Ready to go beyond Domain Names and take control of the Internet?

RubNub is transparent and lives in your Address Bar, so in addition to typing in URLs you can also use YubNub commands. Download the RubNub that matches your Firefox version.

After installing RubNub you can test and play with it here.

P.S. For RubNub v1.5 and earlier: upon installing, you may see an extra toolbar of little use, refer to the Quick Start for details on how to easily remove it. In addition, you may seek general Help as well.

P.P.S. The Mozilla-signed version is awaiting approval for upgrade, this can be found here, however be sure to take note of what version you are downloading from there because only RubNub v1.5+ works with Firefox 2+.

P.P.P.S. The source is in the XPI! 7zip works nicely and this batch script automates the little build process. Enjoy and post your work.

P.P.P.P.S. Enjoy!

    Nice extension !
Would be great if it can add a sidebar with a list of command & descriptions which we can sort by different parameters (nbr of use, alpha, most useed by yubnub users, etc)

    Thx for your work ;]

Seems like the version for Firefox 3 doesn’t work with RC1. Could you update it please?

  • 9 Gabriel Kent // Jun 3, 2008 at 4:51 pm

Yep, I sure will make it RC1 compatible… sorry for the delay.

Just trying out the extension. My set up is so that items from the address bar open up in a new tab. I think this is from Tree Sytle Tabs, but it doesn’t seem that this respects that and I have to do Ctrl+T if I don’t want the search to be on a current tab.

Anyhoo, just a suggestion, if it’s not possible that it respects this setting, please allow an option to have it work this way.

Hmm… good point Marlon. I will look into that and add it to the to do.

    Thanks for the suggestion ;)

Just installed it.. but seems not to work with
    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv: Gecko/2009011912 Firefox/3.0.6

Am I doing something wrong? Just to make sure.. works like Yubnub in search field beside the location field, right?
How about an update for 3.0.6 please?

    Thanks a lot.

    Keep up the good work!

    fixed the problem..

it was just conflict with another ff-add-ons:
    show keywords 3

    which I deinstalled right now.
finally get rid of the search field :-))

  • 16 ben // Mar 7, 2009 at 4:27 pm

i have to admit that the conflict was caused by ff-add-on:
    - tab mix plus …what a pitty, cause I use it a lot :-(

there’s no conflict with “show keywords 3″..which I first thought, because I although disabled this one for testing.

Doesn’t work with FF 3.5. They gave more functionality to te address bar.
