Just an FYI.
You can now download RubNub v2 for Firefox v3 from Mozilla directly.
Currently the version they accepted was for FF 3.0b4, however I just sent an update to them for 3.0b5-3.0pre.

Most notably, updates were made for Firefox 3 compatibility. I do not anticipate major changes in the portions RubNub attaches to, that said, v2 has only been tested in Firefox 3.0b4.
How RubNub operates has been shifted a bit so some of the XUL was made unnecessary and has been trimmed out–making RN even more transparent than before.
I am happy to report that embedded rub:// and yub:// links function as expected.
